Out of Darkness charts Birch’s journey into darkness when he was first diagnosed with cancer and out of it as he made a full recovery. The exhibition, displayed at Louis Vuitton Gallery in 2008, reveals with absolute candor the pain, bitterness, anger, fear and anguish that he experienced together with all of the physical side-effects of his treatments.
